CUDDALORE: As many as 57 orphans in Cuddalore district, including 18 boys and 39 girls, have been given in adoption to non-governmental organisations (NGOs), according to Collector Rajendra Ratnoo.
He was speaking at a review meeting on adoption procedures held with officials here recently. Though 25 NGOs had been recognised to go for adoption in Tamil Nadu, not even a single NGO had qualified for the status in Cuddalore district.
